HPD Officer Tosses Tear Gas at Competition

Ya gotta love rodeo time in Houston, Texas, and the extreme measures some people will go to make sure they're BBQ is #1.

Apparently, a veteran Houston police officer was taking part at the Houston rodeo's Bar-B-Que cook-off when he suddenly felt threatened by the pork ribs being cooked up over at a competitor's booth. Being a highly-trained professional with experience in handling tense situations like this, 51-year-old Mike Hamby lobbed a tear gas canister into their booth.

This turned out to be a bad idea because several people got sick, including a few military veterans that were in a nearby tent. Did I mention that some of the vets were in wheelchairs so a quick evacuation wasn't going to be happening?

Of course, Mike was relieved of duty with pay because everyone deserves a paid vacation when they use poor judgment. I really wish I could make my boss understand that. It would make life easier for everyone.

HPD is dummying up with the typical BS saying allegations will not be disclosed because BLAH BLAH BLAH BULL$SH!T One of their boys in blue jacked up and they want it to simply go away... and it will.

Check out the full story and please don't upset the people cooking the BBQ.
